For each competitor, analyze:

1. POSITIONING — How do they describe themselves? Who are they targeting?
2. PRICING — What do they charge? What's included at each tier?
3. STRENGTHS — What are they doing well? What do customers praise?
4. WEAKNESSES — Where do they fall short? What are common complaints?
5. MESSAGING — What language do they use? What emotions do they target?
6. CONTENT STRATEGY — What channels are they active on? What's working?

Then give me:

OPPORTUNITY MAP
- Gaps none of these competitors are filling
- Audiences they're ignoring
- Messaging angles nobody is using
- Features or offers that would differentiate me

POSITIONING RECOMMENDATION
- A one-sentence positioning statement for my business based on this analysis
- 3 talking points I should use in my marketing that my competitors can't claim

How to Get More Out of It

After the initial analysis, try these follow-ups:

  • “Now analyze their landing pages. What conversion tactics are they using?”
  • “Based on this analysis, write me a homepage headline that positions me against all of them.”
  • “What would a customer choosing between me and [competitor] need to hear to pick me?”

Tips

  • Give Claude the actual competitor URLs. Even if it can’t browse them live, naming them helps it pull from training data.
  • Paste in a competitor’s “About” page or homepage copy for more accurate analysis.
  • Run this quarterly. Markets shift. Your competitors’ messaging will change.
  • Don’t skip the “what makes me different” field. Even a rough answer helps Claude find your angle.
